The Friends of Camillus Park Inc. Welcome you to Camillus Park 2018
Camillus Park is an absolute treasure to our community! A vast 35 acres of green space where friends and families can come together to enjoy nature, engage in numerous fitness and recreational activities or find peace and serenity in the forest trails. We are very fortunate to have this park for community enjoyment.
The Friends of Camillus Park invite friends and families of all ages to participate in the recreation activities in Camillus Park. We are a not for profit, 501(c)(3) organization, incorporated in October 2013 to work with elected officials and town residents to revitalize Camillus Park for educational and recreational activities. In 2015 National Grid volunteers, constructed a pedestrian entry trail into the park from Winding Way allowing residents of Orchard Village to enter the park from the west. Also, National Grid removed over 40 Hazard trees from the picnic area. In 2016, the Friends formed a partnership with the Camillus Parks and Recreation Department in an effort to secure funding through grants and Town funds to construct a “first in the area” Splash Pad that opened in May 2016. Next a“State of the Art” playground was opened in May 2017. Also in 2017, six Pickle Ball Courts were added to the paved parking lot. To date twenty four acres of Forest trails have been developed and maintained for walking, running and leashed dog walking. In Spring 2018, the partnership with the Camillus Parks and Recreation Department will continue the revitalization with the construction of an Outdoor Fitness Area which will provide exercise units for adults including 4 outdoor fitness units with wheelchair capability.
We welcome friends and families to join our volunteer organization to continue our vision of revitalizing Camillus Park.
